On the other hand, we at OCFC are finding ways to maintain a quality and structured training and assist students to complete their flight training with minimal cost while permitting other viable financing options to participating students. Students at OCFC may PAY AS THEY GO while participating at flight training maintaining a minimum balance of $500.00 to keep their account active OR participate in DEBT BUSTER PROGRAM presented here.

Committed students participate in making affordable multiple payments to complete their flight  training under Part 141 or Part 61 at a heavily discounted rate and minimum possible time and without assuming or amassing a student debt obligation, a chronic issue and a problem that student currently face in the United States.  At OCFC excellence is a standard and flight safety comes first and we support debt free participation in flight training programs by introducing the DEBT BUSTER DISCOUNTED PROGRAMS stated below. 

Participation in the E-programs (E-1 through E-8) is specifically designed to prevent student debt and as such MUST BE SELF FINANCED AND cannot be financed by any form of outside institutional financing. Payments under this program MUST BE MADE by check, cash, ACH or debit cards only. OCFC will accept credit card payment under this program for an additional surcharge of 2.5% as deemed cost of processing.

E1 – Discounted Private Pilot Flight Training Program

• Total Flight Hours: 65 hours
  • 55 hours dual instruction
  • 10 hours solo
• Ground School: 36 hours
• Pre- and Post-Flight briefings: 35 hours
• Library Access: Unlimited
• Completion Timeframe: 6 months
• Payment Options:
  • Lump Sum: $17,000.00
  • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 7 payments of $2,286.00 = $18,500.00 total

E2 – Discounted Instrument Rating

• Total Hours: 47 hours
  • 26 hours dual flight instruction
  • 21 hours simulator instruction
• Pre- and Post-Flight briefings: 22 hours
• Payment Options:
  • Lump Sum: $10,800.00
  • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 4 payments of $2,375.00 = $12,000.00 total

E3 – Discounted Commercial Pilot Rating

• Total Flight Training: 120 Hours
  • Dual Flight Training: 58 hours
  • Pre-/Post-Flight Briefings: 27 hours
  • Solo Time-Building: 63 hrs. Not included
    • Discounted Aircraft Rental: $180/hour
  • Payment Options:
    • Lump Sum: $17,000.00
    • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 8 payments of $2,250.00
  • Note: Time-building hours are not included.

E4 – Discounted Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Rating

• Total Flight Time: 27 hours
  • 21 hours dual instruction
  • 6 hours solo
• Ground Training: 63 hours (pre-/post-flight briefings)
• Payment Options:
  • Lump Sum: $11,500.00
  • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 5 payments of $2,060.00 = $12,800.00 total

E5 – Discounted Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII)

• Flight Time: 15 hours (all dual instruction)
• Ground Training: 4 hours of pre-/post-flight briefings
• Payment Options:
  • Lump Sum: $3,500.00
  • Installment Plan: $1,765.00 down + 3 payments of $1,000.00 = $4,765.00 total

E6 – Discounted Airline Pilot Program (Excludes E5)

• Includes: E1 (PPL), E2 (IR), E3 (CPL), E4 (CFI)
• Program Type: Part 141 approved
• Outcome:
  • Eligible for employment as a Certified Flight Instructor at OCFC
  • Accumulate hours toward airline eligibility (e.g., 1500 hours)
• Payment Options:
  • Lump Sum: $55,000.00
  • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 24 payments of $2,500.00 + final payment of $200.00 = $62,700.00 total

E7 – Discounted Multi-Engine Rating (Commercial)

• Dual Flight Training: 22 hours
• Ground Training: 18 hours (pre-/post-flight briefings)

  • Lump Sum: $12,000.00
  • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 4 payments of $2,500.00 = $12,500.00 total

E8 – ALL-INCLUSIVE Program (E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E7)

• Includes: Private through Multi-Engine (excluding E6)

  • Lump Sum: $65,000.00
  • Installment Plan: $2,500.00 down + 27 payments of $2,500.00 = $70,000.00 total

General Terms & Conditions

• Training Aircraft: Cessna 172 N, M, and SP models only. G-1000’s excluded.
• Time Limitations: Students exceeding allotted hours in E1–E3 will be charged per-hour rates from Rate Sheet A.
• Refund Policy: No refunds whatsoever.
• Payment Terms:
  • Convenience fee will be charged on all card transactions at cost.
  • Lump sum payments/discounts not available in the State of California.
  • No contract or obligation is expressed or implied.

Gainful Employment at OCFC

While employment is not guaranteed, a Certified Flight Instructor employed at OCFC could earn up to $67,000 upon completion of 1,500 instructional hours—potentially recovering the full cost of their training.

To remain eligible for discounted rates:

• Student accounts must always remain in good standing (no negative balances) throughout training.
• Education discounts are credited only after 40 hours of completed training.
• All discounts are at the sole discretion of OCFC, whether written or verbal.

In order for any student to avail of any discounts and discount credit offered, their account should be in good standing at all times, which means that the student account cannot have a negative balance at any time during the training period. 

All education discounts are credited to individual accounts based upon fees actually paid and spent at the completion of 40 hours of training only.  Furthermore, any discount offered by OCFC, whether written or verbal, is not an obligation but at the sole discretion of OCFC.
